Driving in North America
I recently started learning to drive in Canada and wanted to share some thoughts about American standards — specifically road signs.
Canada and the USA use the same signs and standards, which, by the way, are no longer used anywhere else in the world.
Let’s compare. This is what a highway looks like in the EU:
Rental housing culture in Canada
After living in Canada for some time, you inevitably encounter rental housing, and in this regard, there are quite a few differences from the familiar post-Soviet real estate market.
The first major difference is rental buildings. Unlike the usual setup where individuals own apartments in a building and some rent out one or two units, which also exists here (called a condominium or condo in Canada), there are entire buildings where all units are owned by a rental company.
In Canada, as well as in the U.S., they construct entire apartment buildings where private ownership of units is not expected—every apartment belongs to the landlord company.
Many of these are 2-4 story buildings made from inexpensive materials:
Note about a Canadian school
I decided to describe some observations about a Canadian school
In Canada, there is no concept of "School" as in post-Soviet countries. Here, there are three types: elementary, middle, and high school.
I didn’t understand what this meant at first, but then it was explained to me that in each, children study only for a certain period of time and then have to move on to the next. I won’t describe many details here, just a few moments.
There is an elementary school near the house, but it doesn't look like a standard American-Canadian school.
A standard one usually looks something like this, long and flat:
Secure messenger in 2023
Lately, in Russia, there have been increasing cases of data leaks from various messengers.
I decided to do some research on the topic and found a useful video. I want to share it with you. (English subtitles)
Thoughts on studying and career in IT
In 2020, I somehow decided to change direction in IT and start learning Linux. In this post, I decided to talk about my educational path in life and express my thoughts and attitude towards the education system in the Russian Federation.

My attitude to learning now is that education in the Russian Federation is complete and useless game, especially in IT. I would have already finished school after the 5th grade and then I would independently choose what I want to do. Higher education and its demand everywhere, it's just disgusting.
